Planting Trees

Carter spent most of Memorial Day helping her dad plant trees. Robert planted 52 of them in fact, so she was a pretty busy little helper. In the true spirit of being a little girl, she mostly slowed the process down considerably, but I know she sure had fun with her poppa! However, before she could help him, she HAD to paint her nails first. (Not sure where she is getting all this girly stuff, because I can assure you it doesn't come from mom!) If you look carefully you can see that not only are her nails pink but most of her fingers as well!

Carters favorite part about helping plant trees was finding worms! She had gathered up a whole bucket full by the time I got outside.

Showing mom her 'favorite' worm for the time being! I realize most people like to add worms to their soil to improve it, but Carter seems to be doing an admirable job of digging up most our worms! I guess if she's going to be a bit of a girly girl with all the makeup and finger nail polish, well then digging up worms, collecting bugs and rocks--much of which seem to end up in the washing machine, although I'm getting much better about checking pockets--seems to be a nice balance.

I like the neck scarf, I suppose she got that from poppa!
