Some random pictures of the kids from May. It's been a busy month and I didn't make time to blog like I had hoped, so I'm trying to get everything caught up now. Plus I've been working on getting the blog book put together from all the blog entries from last year. (Very slowly, the weather is too nice to be inside for very long!)

Carter helping Robert landscape and plant flowers...planting picked weeds in the wheel barrow dirt. (Then naturally being cross when he tried to use the dirt...) Robert got a lot of landscaping done this month and the yard is starting to look much better. Our lawn is green, but I wouldn't exactly call it grass just yet. It's mostly weeds, but that will be a project for next year. This year we're trying to get some of the flowers started, more trees planted, etc. Robert still has big remodeling plans for the house so it's hard to do much around the house or lawn when that's just going to be a construction site later this year. I also got my garden mostly planted, and even have kept up on the weeding so far this year. Last year I wasn't very diligent and I can see I'm going to pay for it this year as the weeds seedlings are coming in fast and furious this spring. I'm hoping to plant a second string of beans, corn and lettuce the first week of June so that things will ripen later and extend the season, but we'll see. Best laid plans and all that.

Chase is now crawling. He started out with an army crawl around 7 months that was pretty cute. It looked kinda like paddling...he'd use one arm to pull himself forward then the other arm. I got a couple videos, but nothing really great. By the end of May, he'd figured out regular crawling and has since mostly quit the army crawl. He is also now pulling himself up on stuff and then you will hear him yelling as he gets frustrated since he hasn't figured out yet how to get himself down!

Not sure what color his eyes are going to end up. Carter's stayed a blue color for a long time too, but not this long I think. Depending on the light, they sometimes look pretty brown, but in this picture, they are still rather blue or maybe grey?

Carter and her bubble beard!

Learning to stack and climb to get into stuff...

Chase now has 5 teeth. The top two were a rather miserable 3 or 4 days until they finally came through, the next one was much easier. Number 6 is on it's way. Chase is also quite the talker. He makes more noise! He is especially vocal when he sees an animal that he would really like to maul. He has this funny noise that he makes when he sees the cats almost like he's trying to lure them in so he can get a handful of hair. (The cats, having been trained well by Carter, are very suspicious of all little persons and are fairly diligent about keeping their distance)
A short video of him crawling although I was actually trying to get a video of him yelling and talking.
