Grad Parties and Diapers

That's basically what we did this weekend: Go to graduation parties, and buy diapers. I had a couple cousins graduating although we only managed to make one of the parties, and then Shawn, who works for Robert, his daughter also graduated. Carter enjoys all the attention at parties and it's one of her new favorite things. She'll constantly ask "We gonna go Party mom?" Sounds a little different coming from a 2 year old that's for sure! At Nicole's party, all the kids were playing badminton, and although Carter wasn't real great at actually hitting the birdie, she really liked swinging the racket.

Robert also gathered up a load of scrap metal that was cluttering up this place, odds and ends that were laying around all over just rusting, to take into town for our Carter doll fund. My sister Christy found a really cute baby doll on the American Girl website: the Bitty Baby Doll. So I'm saving up to get it ordered for her along with a few of the accessories. This way Carter will have her new baby when I get mine.

They also had some great sales on diapers at CVS so I had Robert come into town with me and Gramma Betty to help get as many as we could. I think between the sale, coupons, etc., I ended up spending $70.90 for 18 packs of Pampers jumbo packs (ranging in size from 2-4). Normally this would cost around anywhere from $160-$180, so I was feeling pretty proud of myself. Carter was a big help during the shopping, right up to the point she managed to stuff a tic-tac up her nose. Luckily we managed to get it out with out any major trauma--thanks to Gramma Betty having extra tissues in her purse so we could convince Carter to try to blow her nose until it came out. Hopefully Carter won't want to try that trick again! I was just about as classy. Gramma Betty treated us all to lunch at a Chinese buffet and I managed to get a horrible bloody nose. Again, Gramma to the rescue with tissues. Definitely need to start stocking those in my purse! Afterwards, I finished up grocery shopping and Robert took Carter to the park to burn off extra energy.

Ha ha about the tic tac, I hope she didn't try to eat it after it came out of her nose! Didn't Brianne stick a skittle up her nose and it was there awhile?

Lol...a little tip I learned the hard way when it comes to kiddos putting things up their noses...if they can't blow it out it works if you lay them down, plug the unplugged nostril and then blow in their mouth as if you are giving cpr, and whatever is in that plugged nostril should pop right out. Lindz once stuck a rock up her nose and I had to take her to the urgent care and they taught me this trick. Its a good thing cuz she did it again not too much later only with a bead...lol...so its a good trick to know. :-)

Brianne stuck a 3/4 inch ball of scotch tape up her nose and it was there WAY too long. The doctor had a VERY strong stomach when he pulled that puppy out!
