The last couple weeks have been really busy and I know it's only going to get worse all summer. I'm training two people over the phone at work, getting ready for our User's Conference (mostly doc prep and presentation help since I'm not actually going this year), getting all my clients lined out for my maternity leave, plus everything at home--which just seems to be getting further and further behind. On Monday I had a doctor's appointment for Number 2. Not sure if he's gaining weight, but I know I am! I took Carter and Blake along with me for entertainment I guess. The appointment went well...Number 2's heart rate was moving right along at 138 beats/minute. I also had to do my glucose test (think of the sweetest orange pop you've ever drank then add another cup of sugar...talk about sugar buzz!) I checked out ok on the gestational diabetes, but showed up as rather anemic. Sorta made me feel a little better. I've been feeling so incredibly tired and worn out last week or so, and maybe getting a little extra iron will help some. I was afraid that's how I was going to feel for the rest of the summer, and I've got way too much stuff to get done first!
Carter drank that propel water all the way to town, so Blake's job during the appointment mostly consisted of taking Carter to the bathroom every 5 minutes. I certainly was glad she came along or it would have been a really long day in town. No matter how busy things get, you have to save some tme for play! After the appointment we went to the park to play and burn off some energy before finishing up grocery shopping and heading home. The weather has been so nice the last couple of days...just starting to get almost too warm at 80 degrees, but still much better than over 100.
Carter had a lot of fun playing on the slides and climbing all over. I was glad Blake was there to help chase after her and keep an eye on her. Carter still hasn't had much opportunity to play with other kids her age, and is mostly used to hanging around much older kids. We really need to work on the 'play nice' with others since she's mostly used to being the star of the show--not really her fault. We finally had to leave the park after Carter decided that the little boy throwing rocks at the slide needed some rocks thrown at him. Sigh. She refused to tell him she was sorry, so she had to leave. Boy, did that make her mad.

My little girl really likes to climb! Naturally, she doesn't seem to have any fear of heights.
