From Gramma Aunty...

This was in an email from my Aunty Linda that she sent out yesterday about Carter...

We were sitting at the table a bit ago, when she looked across at me and announced: “My dasshopper is outside unner a wock.”

As I sifted that combination of words for meaning, the proper meaning, she added firmly: “DON’T tep on it.”

Carter had caught the grasshoppers hiding out in my car and put them in a toy on the way to Gramma Aunty's this morning. She really wanted to take them all in the house (she told me these were very nice grasshoppers--mostly because they let her catch them), but I convinced her that Gramma REALLY didn't want them in her house right now and we needed to leave them outside for later. We carefully put a rock on top of the toy to keep the grasshoppers from escaping, and set it right by the petunia planter out front. I had a hard time convincing her to leave them right there because she was afraid someone would either take her grasshoppers (certainly no one around here has enough of those beasts that they wouldn't be sorely tempted to steal 3 more) or that they would step on them and kill them accidentally (most likely on purpose.)

So please watch out for a little yellow plastic teddy bear head with a rock on it holding three ''very nice" grasshoppers in it right next to the purple petunias out front! I'm sure that the 15 or 20 "very nice" grasshoppers that she's managed to turn lose in my house would be very sad to miss out on the additional company this afternoon--particularly the one she turned loose in my bed while I was trying to sleep.
