I've been dragging my feet on the decorating and coloring Easter eggs, but Carter persisted (and dad kept reminding her...) So finally mom got her act in gear and we (mostly her and dad...ok, mostly her) painted eggs. Ok, so I really was pretty much out of time. I can't remember the last time I dyed and painted eggs. It's been at least since maybe high school? I'm fairly certain I wasn't nearly so excited then as Carter was. We first made her take a nap--I just don't think I could handle a tired cranky kid with dye and paint. Carter's been trying really hard to ditch her afternoon nap and it's made things a bit rough. From my google research, it sounds like a pretty normal thing, but I was kinda hoping she would take nice 2-3 hour naps until she was oh, 6 or so and starting school. Nice try mom.

Carter is just starting to get into the coloring and painting. We've got the coloring books and big crayons. This was her first time painting and she really liked it. I'm not quite as thrilled about the mess, but the paper on the counter helped a lot. I think I'll like painting a lot more when it's warmer and she can paint outside. We had a big time as kids with water paints and painting up all our favorite rocks. It was a whole lot funner at the time than it sounds now. Really.
